Wireless Internet / Business Telephone Technician
General Summary
Installs, repairs, and maintains new and existing multi-line telephone key
systems, PBXs, data transmission, cabling and wiring, and associated equipment
such as automatic answering devices, coupling devices, automatic dialers, hands-free telephones, data sets, fax machines, intercom systems, voice/video/data
LAN/WAN wiring, routers, switches, hubs, and VoIP solutions, as well as our
MMDS wireless Internet solutions.
Candidate must be able to work and troubleshoot independently, or as part of a
team.
Essential Job Functions
- Installs equipment on customer premise upon order receipt. Conducts
required equipment programming, setup, and acceptance testing following
installation of new equipment
- Repairs and maintains equipment to ensure functionality
- Performs equipment setup, configuration, and programming per the
equipment vendors’ and Santel specifications
- This position requires travel in company provided vehicle
- Must have valid Drivers License in good standing
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by management*

- Knowledge of telecommunications technology, products and services.
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures.

- Knowledge of outstanding customer service practices and principles.
- Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, various
software programs, and telephone systems.
- Skill in installing telephone systems and related equipment.
- Skill in installing and maintaining Internet service on PC or LAN and related
equipment.
- Skill in oral and written communications, as well as good timekeeping and
documentation practices.
- Skill in identifying and resolving customer problems.
- Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.
Education and Experience
