To Check Santel Dialup Settings:

  1. Click Start/Settings/Control Panel

  2. Double-click Internet Options.

  3. Choose the Connections tab.

  4. Highlight the Santel Internet connection and choose Settings.

  5. Under the General tab make sure you have the correct Telephone Number for your local dial-up. (You can find this number on the user information sheet you received when you signed up with Santel, or follow this link to our Local Access list.)

  6. Click the Server Types or Networking tab. Make sure only Enable software compression is checked under Advanced options. Under Allowed network protocols, only TCP/IP should be checked. Click the TCP/IP Settings button on the right.

  7. At the top "Server assigned IP address" should have a black dot in front of it. Towards the middle of the screen "Server assigned name server addresses" should have a black dot in it. WINS should be all zeros. At the bottom of the dialog box, Use IP header compression and Use default gateway on remote network, should both have a check in front of them.

  8. Click OK all the way out.
