To Check Santel Dialup Settings:
- Click Start/Settings/Control Panel
- Double-click Internet Options.
- Choose the Connections tab.
- Highlight the Santel Internet connection and choose Settings.
- Under the General tab make sure you have the correct Telephone Number for your local dial-up. (You can find this number on the user information sheet you received when you signed up with Santel, or follow this link to our Local Access list.)
- Click the Server Types or Networking tab. Make sure only Enable software compression is checked under Advanced options. Under Allowed network protocols, only TCP/IP should be checked. Click the TCP/IP Settings button on the right.
- At the top "Server assigned IP address" should have a black dot in front of it. Towards the middle of the screen "Server assigned name server addresses" should have a black dot in it. WINS should be all zeros. At the bottom of the dialog box, Use IP header compression and Use default gateway on remote network, should both have a check in front of them.
- Click OK all the way out.
