What is dialup Internet?
Dialup Internet refers to using your existing telephone line to connect you to the Internet. Using a modem that is connected to your computer (often times it is inside your computer) and connected to your telephone line using a standard telephone jack, you are able to dial a phone number that we give you to gain access to the Internet.

What do I need to connect?
You need a computer with a modem, preferably 56Kbps, a phone line, and appropriate software for connecting to Santel Internet. This is usually a program that is already integrated into your operating system.

Am I in your service area?
Please check the list of communities on our Service Area page to determine if you live in a community that we service with dialup capabilities..

What is my local dialup number?
Santel Internet will provide you with the correct local dialup number when they process your application.

Will this tie up my phone line?
Yes. You will not be able to use your phone for incoming or outgoing calls when you are connected to the Internet. If someone tries to call you while you are connected, they will receive a busy signal. If this is not convenient for you, you may want to consider having an additional phone line installed, or subscribing to voice mail (if available in your area) which will intercept incoming calls and allow the caller to leave a message before they hear a busy signal.
