Using Microsoft FrontPage with Santel Internet
- Create your website as normal using FrontPage 98 or
2000. If you are unfamiliar with these programs, you
should use the help files located within each program or
search for help on the Internet using a search engine with
key words of +FrontPage and +help.
Note: In order to use counters, forms and other advanced options
in FrontPage, you will need to have FrontPage extensions enabled for
your web. A virtual domain name is required for this function and
you will be charged $5.00 per month for this premium web service.
Please call or e-mail our office for more information or to get extensions
enabled.
- Once your web has been created, you will want to publish
your page to our server. The directory structure you
should use when publishing your web depends on
whether or not you are using FrontPage extensions and
which version of FrontPage you are using:
FrontPage 98 / With Extensions Enabled
- Have your designed web open and click on File/Publish FrontPage Web.
- Publish FrontPage web to: http://www.yourdomainname.com
- Click Publish.
- Enter your username and password. (Your username
will be admin and your password will be adminpass.
However, you should change your password
immediately after your first publication to your
domain, as adminpass is not secure. Instructions will
be given in step f.)
- Frontpage should now begin to upload your web to
the Internet. Once it is finished, the upload box will
disappear. This will take a little while depending on
the size of your web, so be patient.
- If this was your first publication to this domain, you
should now change your password. Open your Root
Web in FrontPage and click Tools/Change Password.
