Horse Training Experience - Ag 1 Class

Ten freshman students of this year's Ag 1 class are receiving and experiencing the skills needed to train a horse firsthand by working with the pictured quarter horse. He is a registered coming two year old named Fancy Bouncy Baron.

The horse will be brought to school for one day each week this semester, then returned to the owner for further training by the owner during the balance of the week. The class has nicknamed this horse Toothpick. |

On this day each student was instructed to trailer, bridle and tie the horse and receive points toward their grade on their abilities to complete these three tasks. They also saddled the horse for the first time. |

Visit to Artesian Veterinary Clinic - Ag 1 Class - September, 2006

Building of the "W" for Homecoming - September 28, 2006 |

Members of the Ag 1 Class work to build the frame of the "W" that will be burned during Homecoming Week. |

This class traditionally builds the required letter frame each year. The frame will be covered with feed sacks and other burnable materials. |

The burning of the "W" (Menno Wolves) will take place on Friday afternoon of Homecoming Week. |

Seven students from the Sanborn Central Ag 1 class participated in the Central Region Land Judging Contest in Wessington Spring on Tuesday, September 26.

State FFA Officers Visit Ag 1 Class - November, 2006 |
