Parent
Portal : Getting Started
Before Using Parent Portal
It is recommended that Parent Portal runs on versions
5.5 or higher of Internet Explorer. Before using Parent Portal,
determine your version of Internet
Explorer by performing the following steps:
Open Internet Explorer. Click
the Help button on the menu bar, and then click “About
Internet Explorer”. It will tell you the version of Internet Explorer
you currently have installed.
If you need to
update your version, visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and let it
review your current system and guide you through upgrading your Internet
Explorer.
To Access and Use Parent Portal the First Time

Using Internet Explorer as your browser, go to http://www.artesian-letcher.com,
which is the Artesian-Letcher School website.

Click on "Parent
Portal" on the menu on the left side of the page.

After reading the instructions and information provided on this page, click
the Parent Portal button to enter the system.

Find on the top
of the screen where it says, If you have been assigned
a myCampus Activation Key, click here. Click on the words "click
here" in that sentence to enter the system.

Type the activation key provided to you by the school in the boxes that
show on your screen, then click on the Submit button. It is important
to note that all letters in your activation code should be typed in upper
case. If you type the activation code in incorrectly, you will be prompted
to enter it again.

You will also be
asked to provide a username and password. Follow the instructions
on the
screen for providing this information. Be sure to write your username
and password down in a safe location so you can refer to it at
a later date, if necessary.

You will now be able to use your new username and password to log into
the Parent Portal system. Return to the Parent Portal main page if you're
not there already.

Once you have logged in, you should see the names of your children listed
on the left side of the screen. Under each name you will see links for
Class Schedule, Attendance and Discipline.

Class Schedule
- Click on the Class Schedule link to see a list of your child's
classes. Wherever there is a little icon of a notebook
shown under a subject, you can click on it to show your child's
grades in that subject. Use the back button on your
browser to return to the class schedule list.

Attendance - Teachers will be putting in daily attendance records so you
can see what your child's attendance is for the year so far.
- Discipline - This is where certain discipline actions will be shown if
your child has any.
Security Features
-
Three unsuccessful
login attempts will disable the Parent Portal account. In order
to use the Portal again, parents will need to contact Linda
Whitney to have
the account reactivated.

You will be automatically
logged off if you leave the Parent Portal in your browser open
and inactive for over 15 minutes.
- All attempts at logging into
the system are recorded and monitored, and a full audit trail is tracked
on sensitive data. You can view the
audit trail
at any
time when logged into the system by clicking the “View Access Log” link
on the left-hand side of the screen.
