School Directory : Mr. Steele

David Steele - High School/Middle School Social Studies, PE Mr. Steele was born and raised in Ranchester, Wyoming. He attended college at Black Hills State University and did graduate work at Gonzaga University. Mr. Steele is entering his 9th year of teaching and his 9th year as a head basketball coach. He came to Sanborn Central because his parents are from Sioux Falls and are retired there, and because he also has a large family presence in South Dakota (3 uncles and 1 aunt live in the state). Both of his parents were teachers, as well as his grandmother. Last year Mr. Steele won his 100th game as a head basketball coach. He has been selected as the Teacher of the Year at Sanborn Central and was a regional Teacher of the Year nominee. During the summer months, he presents workshops to other teachers on the use of technology in the classroom. He loves to fish for walleye. Mr. Steele is a huge University of North Carolina Tarheel fan. His favorite book is Profiles in Courage by John F. Kennedy. He enjoys pheasant hunting and the company of his yellow lab "Kennedy". His favorite restaurants are the Olive Garden and Boston's Pizza.
