In April 1956 Robert and Maxine Biever moved from Iroquois, South Dakota to Carthage, South Dakota to start working as a Standard Oil Agent and to drive fuel delivery truck. Then in December 1958 they had the option to become the Iroquois area Standard Oil Agent and relocated to Iroquois.
Robert and Maxine then owned and operated Biever’s Standard, a gas station on Main Street in Iroquois. In 1959 Bob started crop spraying with a pull type sprayer, then offered the service of numerous spray coupes.
In 1977 Robert and Maxine became an Amoco Jobber. In 1978 the present service station was built when the fuel business was purchased from the Farmers Union of Iroquois. That is when they started using the name of Biever’s Bulk Sales.
Today Biever’s Bulk Sales custom spraying department has one dry TerraGator, two liquid TerraGators, two RoGators and one HAGIE High Boy. Each sprayer is equipped with a GPS system to stay current with the newest technological advances. One RoGator is equipped with Auto Steer Guidance System. Field mapping and record keeping services are available. We have a GPS Mapping system on an ATV for your use and also will take your soil samples.
Biever’s Bulk Sales service station still offers the services of farm supplies, convenience food, bulk oil, gas, diesel as well as being a tire and battery distributor with a service bay.
Biever’s Bulk Sales continued to expand and added the propane business. The propane department has two trucks to keep up the harsh South Dakota winters. Our staff has Certified CTEP Training and always has your safety in mind.
Shortly afterward liquid fertilizer was also added to meet the demand of the area farmers. A fertilizer complex was built in the 1990’s. Biever’s continued to grow in the 1999-2000 season offering a full line of seed products along with commercial seed treating.
In the spring of 2003 Biever’s purchased dry fertilizer equipment, with the addition of the trucking and feed departments Biever’s Bulk Sales is working to meet the needs of our customers -- Full Service, Full Time.
Biever’s Bulk Sales Co., Inc. has become a family business with Bob and Maxine, their son Gary and wife Joan, as well as their daughter Diane and her husband Steve. Biever’s Bulk Sales Co., Inc. also employs eight full-time and two part-time employees as well as seasonal personnel.
