The Post Office in Dimock was first established on May 2, 1911 with Michael J. Enders serving as the first Postmaster, followed by Helena Sullivan December 12, 1912, Louise Mazourek March 20, 1916, Charles A. Johnson June 14, 1918, Ida S. Mayer (Acting) January 31, 1959, William G. Stiver July 6, 1960, Diane Hohn (Acting) June 30, 1992, and the present Postmaster took over October 13, 1994 and that is Jane Baier.

The first Post Office was the Milwaukee Rail Road Depot. It was located one block from the present Post Office. The original building is now located at the museum in Mitchell, SD. At that time mail was transported by the railroad. Today the mail is transported by truck or air. The current building is owned by William Stivers and is the second building for the Post Office.
